1xxx Aluminum:1060 and 1070 Aluminum Sheet

Generally, the pure aluminum sheet refers to the 1xxx aluminum plates. Their aluminum content is more than 99.0%. The more commonly used alloy grades are 1050, 1070, 1100 and 1060 aluminum sheet.

1060 aluminum sheet is an aluminium plate with good bending, stretching, and ductility properties. It is widely used in hardware processing. Since it does not contain other elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap.

The mechanical properties mainly include several main data such as the tensile strength, elongation, and yield strength of the aluminum plate. The mechanical properties of the 1060 aluminum plate in different states are different. According to the tempers, 1060 aluminum plate can be divided into soft state (0), semi-hard (H24), and full-hard (H18).

1060 h24 mechanical properties

Its tensile strength is about 90-140, with good hardness and bending performance. It is widely used in cabinets, curtain walls, etc. The elongation rate is around 10%.

1060 h18 mechanical properties

Its strength is close to 180, and the elongation is only between 3-5, so the strength is high, the elongation is not good, and it is not suitable for bending.

1060 O mechanical properties

The tensile strength is only between 60-90, and the elongation rate reaches around 30%. It is very soft and suitable for stretching. It is used for products such as lamps and kitchen utensils that require stretching.

Aluminum sheet 1100 is with 99.0% aluminum sheet. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment and has high corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, low density and good plasticity. It can produce various aluminum materials through pressure processing, but its strength is low.

Advantages of 1xxx aluminum sheet

1. Low density: the density of pure aluminum is close to 2700kg/m3, which is about 35% of that of iron.

2. The strength of pure aluminum can be more than doubled by cold working. And it can be alloyed by adding magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, silicon, lithium, scandium and other elements, and then further strengthened by heat treatment.

3. Good corrosion resistance: The surface of aluminum and its alloys is easy to form a dense and firm Al2O3 protective film. This protective film will only be destroyed under the intense action of halogen ions or alkali ions. Therefore, aluminum has good resistance to atmospheric (including industrial atmosphere and marine steam) corrosion and water corrosion.

4. Good electrical and thermal conductivity: the electrical and thermal conductivity of aluminum is inferior to that of silver, copper and gold.

5. Strong reflectivity: the polished surface of aluminum has a reflectivity of more than 80% for white light, and the higher the purity, the higher the reflectivity. At the same time, aluminum has good reflectivity for infrared rays, ultraviolet rays, electromagnetic waves, and thermal radiation.
