Different Grades and Testing Method of Mirror Polished Aluminum Sheet

Mirror Polished aluminum sheet is the aluminum sheet processed by rolling, polishing and other methods to make its surface appear like a mirror.

There are many types of aluminium mirror sheets, ranging from low to high, including common polished aluminium sheet, mirror anodized aluminum sheet and ultra-mirror aluminum.

The common polished aluminium sheet is usually of 86% reflectivity, which is generally used in some relatively low decoration,but its decoration effect is still very good. The mirror anodized sheet and ultra-mirror aluminum is usually of 95% reflectivity, which is used in high-grade decoration. It is also used in some high-end electronic products and high-tech research.

As a common buyer, how to test the quality of aluminium mirror sheet? After tearing off the protective film, touch the mirror surface with your fingers, the sweat stains on the fingers will remain on the mirror surface, but after wiping with a dry cloth or paper towel, the fingerprints will be wiped clean without leaving any traces. This is quality mirror anodized aluminum sheet.

For common polished aluminium sheet, the left fingerprints can't be removed and will become more and more dirty with the wiping.

Another testing method is to put a small aluminum plate on your ear to bend quickly. If you can hear a slight tearing sound, it is a mirror anodized aluminum sheet. Because the surface of mirror anodized sheet will have a layer of corundum-like oxide film, because the aluminum material itself is different from the oxide film structure, the oxide film will burst and emit a slight tearing sound during bending.
