Al 5052 is a typical alloy in the 5xxx aluminum alloys. It has many tempers, mainly including O, H12, H14, H16, H18, H19, H22, H32,etc. What are its properties? Learn more.

Al 5052 is a typical alloy in the 5xxx aluminum alloys. The Mg content is between 2.2% and 2.8%. It is a low-Mg aluminum alloy that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and easy processing and forming properties.

The 5052 alloy has good plasticity in the annealed state and high work hardening rate, so the plasticity is low in the hard state. After hot-rolling the plate, the recrystallization temperature of the alloy is about 288 ℃ when the cold working rate is 50%. Mg is the only strengthening element in the alloy, which has a certain solid solution strengthening effect and increases the work hardening rate of the alloy. The alloy can obtain more obvious strain strengthening.

The tensile strength of 5052 aluminum plate is 170-350MPa, and the annealing temperature is 345 degrees Celsius. The mechanical properties will be different under different work hardening and heat treatment conditions. Compared with 1 series pure aluminum plate, the tensile strength of 5052 is 210-230, and the hardness is 100% higher than that of 1060 aluminum sheet. Its corrosion resistance is better.

5052 aluminum is often used as a decorative panel material due to its excellent formability, corrosion resistance, weldability, and fatigue strength. With the development of machinery, automobiles and other related industries, the demand for 5052 aluminum alloy plates is increasing.

5052 aluminum sheet is a has many different tempers, including O, H12, H14, H16, H18, H19, H22, H24, H26, H28, H32, H34, H36, H38, H111, H112, H114, H116, H321, etc. Different numbers represent different meanings.

Add 2-3 digits after H to indicate the subdivision status of H state. The first digit indicates the processing status of the aluminum plate, the second digit indicates the strength and work hardening degree of the aluminum plate. Generally, the hardening degree is divided into 8 levels that 1 is lower, and 8 is higher. H32 temper indicates that the aluminum plate has been annealed at low temperature after work hardening, and the state has reached a stable state, but the strength is lower than that of H24 aluminum plate. The hardness of 5052-H32 aluminum plate is about 60HB.
