The Application of Aluminum Foil for Air Conditioner

Air conditioner has been irreplaceable no matter in summer or winter. For reaching cooling or warming effect, we need the heat exchanger, an important part of the air conditioner. Air conditioner foil is a special material for manufacturing air conditioner heat exchanger fins.

The development of aluminum foil for conditioner is accompanied by the development of air conditioner demand. The aluminum foil used early in the air conditioner is plain aluminum foil. In order to improve the surface performance of the air conditioner foil, a certain coating is applied on the surface of the aluminum foil. The aluminum foil with hydrophilic coating is called hydrophilic aluminum foil.

In order to improve the performance of air conditioner foil, the aluminum foil manufacturers in different countries are conducting technical research. In China, the air conditioner foil alloys have also roughly gone through the development process of 1060, 1050, 1100, 1200, 3102, 8011 and other alloy grades.

The speed of the air conditioner fin forming equipment has been continuously improved, which has been increased from 200 times/min to 350 times/min or even 450 times/min. Each feeding is increased from 50mm/2 holes to 100mm/4 holes. This certainly put forward higher requirements for the mechanical properties, straightness and thickness uniformity of the aluminum foil.

There are two production methods for air conditioner aluminum foil: one is the cast-rolled and the other is hot-rolled. These two methods have their own advantages. By developing homogenized annealing process for the cast rolled aluminum foil, the mechanical properties of air conditioning foils have been greatly improved.
