Aluminum foil thickness
Heavy duty aluminum foil: A kind of aluminum foil with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.2mm.

Single zero foil: Aluminum foil with a thickness of 0.01mm and less than 0.1mm.

Double zero gauge aluminum foil: It is a foil with two zeros after the decimal point when its thickness is measured in mm, usually an aluminum foil with a thickness of less than 0.0075mm.

Aluminum foil shape

According to the shape, aluminum foil can be divided into aluminum foil jumbo roll and sheet aluminum foil. Most of the aluminum foil is supplied in rolls and nly a few handicraft packaging occasions use sheet aluminum foil.

Aluminum foil temper

Aluminum foil can be divided into hard foil, semi-rigid foil and soft foil according to the tempers:

• Hard foil: It is a kind of aluminum foil that has not been softened (annealed) after rolling. There will be residues under the surface without degreasing treatment. Therefore, the hard foil must be degreased before printing, laminating and coating, and it can be used directly if it is used for forming.

• Semi-rigid foil: It is an aluminum foil whose hardness (or strength) is between the rigid foil and the soft foil, usually used for forming.

• Aluminum foil that has been fully annealed and softened after rolling. The material is soft and there is no residual oil on the surface. It is suitable for most occasions.

Aluminum foil processing craft

• Plain foil: Aluminum foil without any other processing after rolling.

• Embossed foil: Aluminum foil with various patterns embossed on the surface.

• Composite foil: Aluminum barrier foils is a kind of the composite foil, which comprises of 3 or 4 layers of different materials, bonded together with adhesive or extrusion polyethylene.

• Coated foil: Aluminum foil coated with various resins or paints on the surface.

• Colored aluminum foil: The surface of the aluminum foil is coated with a single color such as gold aluminum foil.

• Printing aluminum foil: The aluminum foil gets various patterns through printing. It can be one color or many colors, up to 12 colors. It is currently mainly used in packaging, electro-mechanical and construction fields.
