Air Conditioner Foil: Hot rolling V Cast Rolling

There are two processing crafts for the converter foil:

2. Casting and rolling- cold rolling- trimming- cold rolling- box rolling- slitting- finished product annealing- packaging

During the hot rolling process, the aluminum ingot produced by the DC casting method is hot-rolled into a strip of 2.0-10.0mm, and then cold-rolled and foil-rolled. The crystal structure of the ingot is composed of quenched structure of the outer layer and the columnar crystal and the equiaxed crystal structure in the central part.

The cast rolling has the characteristics of rapid solidification and directional crystallization. Its crystalline structure consists of columnar crystals on the surface and equiaxed crystal structure in the center.

Due to the rapid cooling characteristics of twin-roll casting, the internal grains of the cast-rolled strip are greatly refined, and the supersaturation of alloy elements such as Mn, Fe, Cr are achieved. And the particle size of the intermetallic compound is smaller, about Only 1/5 of hot rolled billet.

The difference in structure results in that under the same rolling and annealing conditions, the aluminum foil of the cast-rolled billet has higher strength and lower elongation than that of the hot-rolled billet. At the same time, the cast-rolled billet also has a relatively high working speed.
