5052 aluminum sheet is the most representative alloy with medium strength. It is also called Almg2.5, which also means that the content of mg alloy (magnesium alloy) is around 2.5% (between 2.2-2.6). It has good corrosion resistance, weldability and formability, especially high fatigue strength and good seawater resistance. With strong performance, it is an excellent product suitable for bending, stamping, stretching and other processes.

5052-O, 5052-h112, 5052-h32 and 5052 h34 sheet are the common tempers of 5052 aluminum plate. 5052-h32 aluminum sheet is the most common temper of 5052 aluminum plate. H32 represents the processing condition of the product. H can be understood as incomplete annealing and work hardening. 32 represents that the hardness of the product has been stabilized at 1/4 hardness.

5052-H34 aluminum is 5052 aluminum in the H34 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is strain hardened, and then stabilized, to a strength that is roughly halfway between annealed (O) and full-hard (H38).

                            Aluminum plate hardness comparison

1xxx: It is the softest aluminum alloy. The hardness can only reach 20-30HB.

2xxx: It belongs to the duralumin. It is also a kind of aircraft aluminum alloy. The hardness can reach 120HB after heat treatment.

3xxx: It is slightly harder than the 1xxx aluminum alloy.

5xxx: It is of medium hardness. It is usually around 40-50HB.

6xxx: It can be heat treated, and the hardness can reach 80-90HB in the T6 state, which is also a medium hardness.

7xxx: It is also a hard aluminum. The hardness after heat treatment is usually between 140-150HB.
